In 2002, the name of the Ministry of Science and Technology was changed to “Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology”. April To Accelerate The Activities Of The Ict Sector On April . On the date the Department of Information and Communication Technology under the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology was formed. 4 December 2011 AD. The Government On February 2014 Aimed At Further Accelerating And Integrating The Pace Of Information Technology Development.
On the date, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications merged the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology created the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, under it the Department of Information and Communication Technology and the Department of Posts and Telecommunications. Interested in keeping pace with the changing modern world, the Government of Bangladesh and high policy-makers played a major role in this change in the country, realizing the importance of ICT. This change has added new impetus to the activities of the Department of Information and Communication Technology.

Establishing a happy prosperous Sonar Bangla through reliable digital access at the grassroots level, it’s rich human resource development, export-oriented development of it industry and the use of people-friendly information technology.
